I've got an IDS 228 (sw version 2.5.1x27) that I'd like to Backup, but when I log into the system and press D it says "access denied". How can I get a backup?
I assume I have to set PowerTerm to receive a file. Should I tell it to receive an ASCII or a binary file?

With regards to access denied,what level is the password you're signing in with?

It says "Access level = 07" in the top right corner. Is that what you mean?

Yes,the screens can be denied access to by a setting in the programming.You are going to need the level 8 password to access the d screen.

How can I find the pw or reset it? I know I've backed up before but it's been a year or two (!), I think I'm waaay overdue to get it done. Thanks again.

You also need to be running ProComm , save the system file as .pgm
Save the acd file as .acd
