Anyone doing any long-haul fiber or FTTH work for their local cable company (or even Coax)?
We've been approached by Time-Warner, who seems to be farming out more and more of its OSP work. Must be a move to reduce the number of inhouse employees. Currently in the "How many guys can you give us? How soon?" stage.
Anyway, I'd be curious to know how it's worked out for you.

Around here the Time Warner people contract for major construction and use contract installers for the most part. The day to day stuff and F O repair, adjust levels, etc. is still in house. good Luck, KLD

Same here with Adelphia. All service calls, at least what I have seen are still Adelphia techs. Installs are farmed out. Right now I usually see ACI trucks around. Over the years, I have noticed MasTec, Baker Installations, and Cable Express. Also seen a company called Miller Cable Construction around but don't know if it's cable or electrical.

Steve,
Just curious on how the Time Warner deal has worked out for you.
We are just about to start work for them in the Central Texas area. I'd like to know what to expect and what to look out for if you have any details.
Thanks
