Have an Executone IDS 228 phone system and need to provide analog output for each staion so we can have all our calls recorded. We can use station side "logger patches" connected to the phone, but would require a lot of cable runs and management nightmares. Any way the PBX could mirror all calls to some analog ports or anyone know of a Digital to Analog convertor that would work. If it matters, I'd be recording three ACD groups with 5 agents each, all with M32 phones.

If you have 15 analog ports to spare there is another way. If you look at each stations "A" screen it lists a tapon extension. Plug a recording device into an analog port and the analog extension is in tandem with the digital extension. They just have to press record when they wish to. Or perhaps find a voice activated version.

Hookup a recording device to the lines in series with the system. There are many companies that make the devices, some even record to a PC.

Good Luck!!

If all else fails, use a BFH.

Bill, thanks, that might work.
JJ, all the vendors i talked to can't hookup directly to these digital phone, and i need some sort of central recording not controled by the users.

JJ was referring to recording directly off the co lines not the digital lines.Tap on is probably your best bet if it has to be on the station side.

Depending on the number of agents or stations, it maybe more effient to put the recordering device on the phone lines. Wtih the tap on option, you would need a sli port for each station that you want to record.

The way I look at it, Trunk side doesn't give me what I need recording wise, and I would rather have everything managed in the back rather than running new wires and installing logger patches at the desk that people can disconnect. Since its a 24 port board, and I only need to record 15 people, it does the job and gives me some expansion room.

Technically, you could install an inline recording device between the executone handset and the phone. I believe the signal to the handset is not digital. After all, many call centers do plug in their own headsets that aren't Executone proprietary. Give it a try. :-)

The Tapon feature is designed to do exactly what you are looking for. It does require an analog port for each scenario though. I have used them in Police dispatch centers and connected them to call loggers etc.

The user has no control over what gets sent to the Tap-on extension. This feature Does Not record intercom calls (only CO's).
