We currently are running an IDS 432 (ACPU - Eclipse 2.0.1) system which has 2 cabinets. If I understand correctly we can only add one more cabinet to end up with a 648.

Is there no ability for expansion past the 3 cabinet limit? If so is this a limitation of the software or is the hardware involved the issue?

Thanks for your help.

Geoff

3 Cabinets does make the 648.If you are only using 2 right now you still have quite a bit of expansion room on what is now a discontinued system.

Or, if thats not enough, You could always get a 4th 228 cabinet and some TIE Line cards and tie that cabinet into the 648..

I had one customer that had 2 full blown 648 systems all in the same room tied together using Tie lines (24 circuits!) what a NIGHTMARE!!

we finally convinced them to put in 2 T-1 cards to TIE the systems Together....Much better.

yes, that is correct, go into the "Y""C" screen and you can address up to a total of 1000 extensions using tie lines to another system. I have mine talking to a panasonic dba 100 using a T1 board and assigning those remote extensions to group 10 in the "Y""C" screen. see the appendix "C" in the executone tech manual for more info on Transparent icm dialing and release link tie lines.

Do the T1 tie lines have to be in cabinet#1 of both systems?

It's been awhile since I've actually worked on that type of configuration, But, as I remember, no, it really doesn't matter where the T-1 cards are for that purpose, there is some programming to do though, the other thing is , you don't need any Kentrox's, basicly, You just plug 1 T into the other, then again, You might have to flip the transmit and recieve pairs...

one major draw back to more than 3 cabinets is the icm calls from the 4th or 5th are recieved as incomming co calls.

I have a client that wants redundancy for their call center. So I am proposing two 432 systems. Each with their own DVAs, PRI, agents and then T1 lines between the two independent systems. Any advice?

Bill
