I have seemed to have accumulated my fair share of M7310 phones with either low volume problems, switchhook not releasing the lines when the receiver is placed on hook or the switchhook not allowing calls to be placed back on speakerphone. replacing the phone in the field seems to fix the problem. My supplier is quick to tell me that it is cheaper to buy a replacement phone rather than repair it. Being an old hack who opened many a phone in the 80's, i noticed there seems to be a small board inside the phone that the switchhook makes contact with. is it possible to get replacement boards to fix these problems? or does someone know a trick that can fix these switchhook problems. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance. Tj

They are almost all contact hookswitches that simply need to be cleaned. Clean the contact with a rubber pencil eraser and the board with alcohol. There are some versions that use an electronic eye. You will likely need to replace those. Your low volume issues are likely the result of using older phones on newer systems. The volume will simply not go up as far. Check your phones' version numbers. I do not remember what versions had this problem. It is also possibly the result of handsets failing. Make sure you swap around your handsets before assuming it to be a problem with the phone. We fix those phones for a lot less than you would pay to replace it.
