I have an Eclipse Version 2.5.1 cpu in a 108 cabinet with a EVX voicemail card. I have an intermittant problem of when the vms key is hit you get the main greeting. this happens about every 3rd or 4th time. and it's not the same port. Any suggestions?

check to make sure that all of the VMS extensions are set for hunt group 36.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Also be sure to check evx's S screen to make sure that the extensions are entered on each channel. Then check start task in dnis tables-
Verify PROOF in G screen on telephone system set as # or 9 on every voice mail box, as well as the ext having a voice mail box to hit.
Oh, in A screen for each of the VM extensions, set VMS/ATTEND? to Y
If it still fails, pour some water on it. You won't have to worry about it anymore after that.
If you can read this, you're in range.

There was also a field at the bottom of the CTRL C/N screen - I think the field was called "SMDI_Dial" - and the correct value was 06. It controlled a timing parameter of SMDI across the backplane. Note the current setting before changing... Mike

Also, check the button programming for the individual phone to see that it is 830 and not the ext for the vm.

Sorry guys, Got tied up on another project.
All 4 ports are in hunt group 36, the extension numbers are correct in the S screen, VMS/Attend field on all vm extensions is set to yes and all 4 ports do answer. The field called "SMDI_Dial" was set to 080. Tried 006 & noticed no difference. the field 10) oh-dly is set to 080. tried higher and lower....no difference. (Yes, Rebooted after each change to the Dialogue Parameters.
Tried another EVX card and the same problem occurred. My only other option is to change the CPU. What do you think?

What card slot is the EVX in? (it should be in 9) The oh-dly should be at 50.

Yep, it's in the 9th slot. Tried 8th slot also. On the oh-dly I have tried from 30 to 160 and noticed no difference.

If possible try this: Write down all the "F" screen information (Card slot Ext# etc.) Clear all Ext's and Co lines, Remove all Station & co cards. Reset the phone system. Then install the 1st card in slot and define all ports, then install 2 and repeat for all card slots. reset the system and test. You might want to do a back up prior to this change. Also make sure all stations are idle (phones are not I/O , fwd, logged in to ACD)
Good Luck
