Hello,

I have an Exectone IDS 42 system (with no expansion cabinets or operator terminals) it has two model 18 telephones. There are few things I would like to adjust about this system, but wouldn't know how to go about doing it.

1) the system is set to pulse dialing, I know it's something you have to go into the operators terminal to, but I don't have an operators terminal or ProComm. How could I change it to tone dialing?

2) It's not letting me add more than 2 stations to the system. I have stations 3001 and 3002 hooked up fine, but when I go to wire station 3003 in or any station after that, they don't work. Maybe I'm wiring them wrong, how would I wire stations 3003, 3004, and 3005?

Thanks for all your help.

-Nick

You(Or somebody) needs to get into system programing to change the line programming to Tone and then check the ' F ' screen to see if the Extensions are assigned there.

it sounds like your system is defaulted. there is very limited programming thru the phones. you don't have a display phone so it will be difficult for you to determine the station port numbers. best way is to invest in procomm plus. any old version will do. you will need procomm plus setup as xmodem. TVI955, 9600, 7,E,N to interface. Pins 2,3,7 and 20 are required on the serial cable. when you get it hooked up, give me a call and i will supply you with the default passwords.

TVI 920, 9600 Baud, 8, none, and 1. work best.

Xmodem is used for backups only.

pins 2,3,7,and 20 on RS232, and pins 2,3,4,and 5 on DB9.

Good Luck!!

If all else fails, use a BFH.
