No, the rack is in my utility room in the basement. I agree about the HDTV thing, but for now I don't have any HD sets. I think that when that time comes, I will probably consider an alternative solution, like using multiple inputs at the set.

I have installed similar whole home distribution systems like yours in the past. What we normally do is have the sat receivers right at the tv locations and send the RF output back to the utility room. It takes two coax runs (or one with 2 diplexers) but you can still do the modulation thing like your system.
