I have an Ademco (Honeywell) vista 20P.
with 2 partitions.

What I am trying to do is find a way to trip a relay to control a door on the second partition. I want the door locked when the partition is armed and unlocked when the partition is disarmed. I plan on using a magnetic lock for the door. I know I can use a stand alone keypad like a CORBY for the door or a key switch , but I would much rather have it work from the Ademco keypad.

The second partition is really just a closet consisting of 2 zones, the first being the door, the second being a safe.

The idea is the second partition is always armed and the door is always locked. But if you need access you disarm the partition and it unlocks the door.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Anthony, I see no one has chimed in and was wondering if you ever came up with a solution?
There are 2 built in low current trigger outputs on that panel that you could tie into an Altronics
low current relay.
Or, you could add a 4204 relay board to that panel. The 4204 has a little more flexibility in programming then the trigger outputs.

Thanks MR.G.

I was looking at the onboard triggers, But I do not think I get the triggers to work simply by arming and disarming the system. I will take a look at the 4204, I actually have a 4229 expansion board with relays. I am giong to need to take anothr look at the manuals. I will also look in to the 4204.

It's been a while since I used the trigger outputs but as I recall 1 goes "high" or hot on arming and the other follows an alarm.
Ther is a small plug on board with flying leads that ADI has for this.
I believe this is the relay that we use to use.
Altronix
The trigger would energize the relay and the relay dry contacts would act as the switch for your Mag-lock.

I will have to give that a shot. I have the lead and I know I have some relays around. If it goes hot when armed that is all I would need.

Thanks!
