Fellow techies,
I'm trying to decide on a PC-based CCTV capture card/multiplexer, and I could really use a little help due to the number of choices Out There.
System specs: Residential, 8 channels for cameras, color video, audio monitoring on one or more channels nice-to-have but not critical, able to view video and control a future PTZ camera from any system on the home network.
The video view needs to be as close to real-time as possible.
The capture card will be installed in a server-class system, Windows Server 2003, PCI slot is available but the card may need to be in a 3.3V slot (Universal PCI). Client workstations will access said server for the video feed and camera control.
Reliability is a top priority. I don't mind paying a bit more for a quality product, though I'd prefer not to have to take out a second mortgage. ;-)
Thanks much.
