Does anyone know where I could find the amplifier to use with the old speakerphone transmitters and recievers? I have used the itt orator, but have a couple of the western electric transmitters with the on/off buttons. Not sure if it's possible to hook this stuf up.

You will need the speaker that goes with it, there is also an adapter that needes to be used on the 25pr cable. Everything is built into the speaker that is why they were so heavy, the transmitter was in the on/off switch. Without the 1A2 key books I can't tell you the numbers.

OK it was a 4A speaker phone and found them here;
https://www.ntcp.com/en-us/dept_460.html

Just a word of warning. I purchased from this supplier before and had less than satisfactory results, but things may have changed, I no longer use them. I did not see the adapter, you may try doing a search on google for 4A speaker phone adapter. It also doesn't say if the transformer comes with it.

i think you're looking for a 108 loudspeaker and maybe a 149 adaptor.

Thanks I couldn't remember the adapter number, that sure sound right..the whole unit was a 4A. Wasn't the 108 a speaker only??

EDIT: to clarify. Is the 108 the speaker with the amp connector to plug into the 149a adapter.

Bill:

The 4A speakerphone system consists of the following components:

108B loudspeaker;

680B transmitter & controller;

82C connecting block for six-button sets (or)

182C connecting block for single-line sets (or)

223B connecting block for hard-wired connection into other sets.

Of course, the 2012 transformer was also required to provide 18 volts unless you got it from the key system itself.

149 adapters weren't used for this; they were just a block to allow you to steal unused pairs out of the cable.

Bill:

Memory? I don't got no stinkin' memory! I have to be honest, I pulled out an old 1985 Alltel Supply catalog! I keep some of those around here to find part numbers for old stuff from time-to-time. And you thought I really knew what I was talking about! Think again......

Yeah, Bill, but you will need to find your aluminum walker first!

By the way, are you coming to the chat room tonight at 8:30 for the Vodavi party?
