Anyone know if this was an electronic key system or 1a2 style? Seems like a few 25 pair cables came out of this old KSU.

Executone did have their own version of 1A2, but I am not familiar with their part numbers.

It's been a while......But I believe the K1500 was the Charter Phone System, This was Executone's 1st electronic key phone system. The wiring was 25 pair to 100 pair depending on the number of KSU's and DSS/BLF. The Equity I (K1800) was the 2nd generation of electronic key phone systems. The wiring could be 25 pair to 100 pair depending on a 6 or 12 button with a DSS/BLF.
FYI K1900 Command System K2100 Gateway System K2300 Equity III K2500 Encore K2900 Encore CX
.......There was a Equity II key phone system, I can't recall the number.

Wow that takes me back. I used to work on the Charter in the 70s and 80s It was a key system although different from 1A2. Hands free intercom was HOT I used to assemble the units, modules for Speakerphone, and soldering in other "features" I may have a manual still floating around,,Just maybe.

I wonder what the phones looked like, and they had 25 pair running to them?

Yes that's what I remember! I don't think I will find them so this KSU is probably only good for a boat anchor.
