Back in the early 90s I would run into issues with 400E cards of an older vintage that did not support multi-frequency ringing, usually the oldest and most hacked up 620A panel in the oldest Kroger in Indiana. At the time credit card point of sale terminals were taking hold and a requirement was a C.O. line. Enter the Multilink Versalink. I believe the Versalink generated 90 VAC @ 30cps as ringing voltage which was not detected and resulted in open ringing.

Rotary500,re; the DSS lighting the 1A2 lamps. Spare DSS console, with phototransistors 'watching' each DSS. PT's drive relays, that close A and A1. SIMPLE! NOW, find an electronic tech that wants to mess with it, that's the hard part! I'd volunteer, but, I'm 62, and I'm looking for the $$$$$$$$$ maker that will let me retire in a manner that I would like to become accustomed to. This doesn't sound like it!  John C.

I have some Melco units that monitor stations and provide BLF. The consoles are desingned to sit beside a Merlin phone.
