I recently acquired a new in original box AT&T 2565 set from eBay, but I do not yet have a female Amp connector. I was wondering if I touched the wires from the CO line to the pins on the Amp connector that I could make a test call to make sure the phone is working. Could someone also please include what pins (they are numbered) I need to contact with the Red and Green CO wires? Any help would be appreciated.

Just hook it up inside the phone on the tip and ring of the 1st line. White Blue pair. It won't ring unless you also put the bell leads on the line. It will be the bell leads that go to the yellow slate pair in the cable.

Is it time to tell him about making amphenol cables yet? Huh, Huh, Huh. smile John C.

I don't have any Amp connectors, and I would like to just be able to buy professionally made cable. I don't think my version would turn out very well- it would look as good as Paris Hilton's criminal record.

I have plenty of 66E3 blocks that will allow you to punch down a raw-ended cable providing you with a female Amp-type connector.
