hello,
i have a hum on my phone line. i have one at&t 944, at&t portable, vtech portable, on this line. about 6 months ago i had the same hum on the line, and i plugged in a land line directly into the customer interface, and still got the hum, so i figured it was a telco issue. the phone tech that came out that time, said it was the no-name phone, and unplgged it, and the hum did go away. well its back, and the no-name phone hasnt been in use for months. i plugged a phone in the interface outside, and the hum is still there. i am going to call for service, but was wondering, if the phone tech tells me its one of my phones again, should i cut em off at the pass and ask why is the hum still there when i plug a phone into the interface? isnt the idea of unplugging the jack in the interface and plugging in a phone, to disconnect the interface from the inside house wiring?...bob
