Hey all im Ben Ludke and i have a ITT 1A2 501A in my basement i bought off ebay for $20 in like june or july 2011 i am a big telephone junkie although im only 17! soon to be 18 i thought i knew what i was doing but apperantly i do not becuase its now sitting in my basemnt!!! i really wanna get it up and running but i dont know anything about it and honestly i have no money to get it going so if anyone has parts i will take them as in KTU's key sets cable... ect...ect...ect! also i will need all the help i can get!!! thanks for looking!

Well, you bought the system so you must have had some idea of what you were buying. Forget about what you don't know about the system, what do you know about it. Tell us that and we'll try to point you in the right direction...

i know:
it was pulled from service from an american family insruance company becuase the case says so!
it is only compatible with the 5 line phones
its ITT model 501A it has no KTU's
i know they had a 1A2 system @ WJM on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Mr. Grant had a call director
it uses 25 pair cable
i have a rough idea as to the way i want it set up
i know what a CO PBX KTU is
thats about it

OK. A couple of questions:
Do you know how to terminate 25 pair cable?
Do you have a basic knowledge of electricity.
Do you know anything about telephones in general?

dont know the first 2 but i know how to replace ringers dials ect.
