Hi all Working on a IPx 800 ver 14.67 s/w. I have an ACD group and a UCMC. The ACD group works ok but I want an greeting announcement then if all the agents are busy to go to music on hold. I was told that one of the UCMC ports could be set up as an announcement port (DVMS) to do this but I cant seem to make it happen, Any Ideas

You have to have a digital announcer card to start the "queing". This could be a 4VSN, Viking digital Announcer off an analog port, IVMF...ect. I have never used a port off a functioning voicemail because they usually are setup so that all the ports are needed. Generally you don't want to be messing around with it unless you are a certified tech.

Thanks coral Tech, Im a certified installer no worries, but our support in Australia is awful. Tadiran has told us it works and thats how we sold the system but no one seems to be able to tell us how to make it work. They used to have a 4iaa but what a nightmare. A 4vsn is too expensive as we will have to make the shortfall as we said it will work. I will go back to Tadiran agian and asked the question

Well, here is the deal. You have to make that port under EKT Annoucer=Y
Then you have to take that port out of the programming in the VM and give it a recording that hangs up afterwords. Oh, important make sure under EKT that that port has no PC signaling on it. The IVMF is the replacement.

Take a single line port. Lets say 3009 Go into the Hunt Group set ivr_acd to y go to the ivr programming portion of the hunt group. insert the ivr single line port number (3009) here. this opens additional programming in that hunt group. Set for 10 seconds (all agent are busy go here) Loop the single line to an available trunk. Set the trunk to dil a library that targets a voicemail box. This creates a supervised conference. You can then record music in that mailbox and/or record a greeting that states they are on hold, hit one to leave a message or remain on the line...if they remain on the line, they hear the rest of the "message" (music you record in that mailbox). Make sure you set the mailbox up for "hang up and transfer no in the voicemail.
