Does anyone have a PRI T1 hooked up to an Ice system? Problem I am having is we only get the phone number on the caller id,not the name. Phone company says they are sending the info and are switch is rejecting it. I have taken this to the highest level with Verizon and many people have looked at it so I believe them.

Tadiran has no answers, they suggest we replace every piece of equipment.

So, my question is does anyone have this type of a setup and if so are you getting names and numbers on your caller id?

I am just wondering what makes me so special that I have problem that they say: "We have never heard of this before, you are the only one that has ever had this problem"

Thanks
Walter

Hmm, is it NI2 name and number? Far as I remember for PRI it has to be that way. I am assuming PRI. T1 can't.

There are test sets out there like the TPI 570 that can take a PRI in and verify Name and number. The TTC 2209 will not do name but will do number.

I would request verizon actually verify it on site.

I have had situations that they verify and verify but it actually is not set in the telco switch.

There default answer is that is the way we always build them.

If you know someone with a TPI 570 then it comes in very handy in this type of situation.

What does it show when you look at the caller ID list? Press the caller ID button and then select more, does it show the name then?

CID NAME is not supported on the T1/PRI card for the ICE. CID NAME is supported on analog trunks only.

Yeh,
Thank me for finding that out, Tadiran put us through an exercise for no reason. They also told me that it worked in their office, 8 service calls later, multiple visits to Tadiran and replaceing all the equipment, they then tell me "name is not supported"

I still have not told the customer, I am afraid he will kill me smile.

When all this was going on , I asked Tadiran if anyone else ever had this problem, there responce was" hundreds of people are using this and have no problems".

I am not a happy camper

Walter
