I have a dozen or so customers (out of about 300) that have this problem with the Protege. Does not happen on the CTx, but does happen on the LTX and MTX. I have tried everything possible (over 6 years ). Changed software, changed boards, used cat5 wire on the dss units ( thought on that was RFI issuse), put rfi traps on the station cords, etc.
My thoughts:
1. Have the customer F69 the phone then unplug phone and 2 dss units.
2. Have the customer power down the phone system then power up.
3. If possible, after power up and power down, have them swap the phone with another phone.
Also, make sure the phone and dss units are not near any magnetic fields ( monitor, copy machine, etc) this will cause this problem.
