Has anyone had a problem with a new pri providing name and number causing current calls to disconnect? I recently switched dial tone to a new PRI with name and number and at times am getting current calls disconnected. When I dial the trunk numbers I find CID on lines not in use. I know that Tadiran had problems with CID name from some CO's that delivered two messages instead of one but it sounds like they are only saying it was a problem with version 15 and UDT cards. I have a Coral II with Version 14.67.34 and a PRI card w/ Version 6.22

What is the PRI? Is it configured NI2 name/Number? I know thats pretty standard today. I have never had issues with it as far back as 1993-4.

TJ: Find out if the service provider is using a soft switch to provide your PRI. This has been known to cause problems with many different brands of phone systems. You may want to search "soft switch" on this forum as there has been quite a lot of discussion about this subject here recently.

Coral Tech: The PRI is NI2 with Name/Number; my old PRI I believe was a Custom with Number only.
Ed: I do not believe they are but will check. When I switched they had wanted to move me to a "Soft PRi" as I call them with an IAD etc. but I had them bring in a traditional PRI to my CSU as I have seen too many problems with them especially with using Flexicall.
I should explain my background. For over eight years I worked for a Tadiran dealer and was certified on most products from installation to the Coral Sea Soft switch. I did most of the hi end troubleshooting on the Coral and worked with engineers in NY, FL and Israel. Since leaving I cannot just call in to Tadiran but I do have a few resources and that is why I did the post. It is very possible that the problem that Tadiran has identified with the UDT and version 15 may be related to this. I have seen over the years problems that we discovered and the actual problem was there for years but required the right situation to happen before it showed itself.

6.22 would be a regular PRI23 correct? I have never seen this with caller ID being an issue. You know, I would have the T1 checked to see if it's flaky. I have seen where, because the Coral will tolerate a bad T1 and stay in service, that you get a couple calls on it and it starts dropping. Have you opened DIDBG and see what errors you are getting or Q9.31 MSG?

We have just gone through an extensive process of trying to get a PRI to keep a call up. It was running and would drop calls at set times during the day. It came down to the signally channel configuration needed to be changed so that the setting for, send to public network, needed to be set to no so that the carrier would quite disconnecting the calls. We had the Q9.31 msgs open which showed a disconnect from the carrier and had a T-Berd test unit on the circuit with no errors.

I upgraded the Switch to Version 14.67.51 last night which is the newest I have seen for a SVC24. As far as the T1 we have done testing on it and found no problems, we did have a problem last fall right after we switched to the new T1 and there was a problem with the local loop and it had to be changed, bad cables outside of building. All of the stats in DIDBG show no errors at all. The PRI is a regular PRI23 full size card.
I am going to see how things work for a few days and if I start having problems again I will call the carrier and have them turn off the Name and just leave the Number on and see what happens. If that clears the problem I will get in touch with Tadiran.

Here is an update on this problem. In looking at the messaging from the coral I could see that the coral was not sending back the call status to the CO. I forwarded this to the company I use to work for to have them send to Tadiran. After a month and several calls and e-mails one of the techs contacted Tadiran with to logs I sent, that was on a Monday. On Friday the tech stopped by and installed version 14.67.84 along with PRI EPROM 6.36. I had them turn back on the caller ID name and then the PRI23 card started resetting. I believe that Tadiran logged back into the system and made some change that stopped the card from resetting but I do not know for sure.
Thanks for all of the responses.
