I have a Coral 3 in a remote office that I am trying to connect via a 4TEM/s to a Cisco Router with a VIC-2E/M. The Cisco only supports station side E&M. I am configured as type 1, immediate, 2 wire on both sides.I can call from the Tadiran to the Cisco and everything is fine but when i call from the Cisco to the Tadiran I can here the DTMF but the E&M signaling does not work ant the Tadiran never goes off hook. Cisco tech support thinks it is because the Tadiran is not configured for trunk side. Does anyone know how to configure the 4TEM/s for trunk side or have anyother ideas?

Easiest way to tell what side is screwed up is to loop the E&M TRUNKS back to back to thier respective switches and see if they work on their own boxes. Also double check your settings. Myself I like using wink start protocal if possible.

The Cisco Side Only Supports Station Side E&M so I can not loopback that side. I will give it a try on the tadiran side. Are there any settings to define trunk or station side? In the 4TEM/s does the s mean station, are they maybe any jumbers?

There are jumpers on the 4TEM/s, by the way, that s does not mean station. There is no "station side" connectivity for E&M in the Tadiran, E&M are trunks.

Regarding the jumpers on the E&M cards, they are jumpered for 2 or 4 wire and Type I, II etc.

Also beside the jumpers make sure your system is mutely grounded with the cisco. Without ground on E&m you will run into problemsb
