I have 2 228's with a T1 connecting the sites.
Randomly I will have communication between sites go down. When I look I will in the C-Screen, I will see one side with all the T1 circuits from the F-Screen showing "--->Ring".
If I reseat the T1 card the problem goes away. I've replaced the T1 card on that side and the adtran too.
I am thinking of replacing the EVCM board tomorrow morning.

Telco always says "its clean!"

I search for EVCM on this forum but I don't see to much with that. Other than the T1 having problems, I'm not aware of any other crazy 'tone' problems that I think would indicate something with the EVCM card.

Does the EVCM card sound reasonable to replace?

Sounds more like a T1 issue. Either the T1 has lost sync with each other or the Telco went down and the T1 is not coming back on line by itself.
What alarms do you show in the diagonstic screen when you check it.

t1 is a very simple connection. How far apart are these systems? what CSU's are you using on each end?
who is the carrier? who does the signaling conversion? Evcm can be the cause of this, but not in your case. You are simply resetting the T1, breaking the connection and then it comes up. The EVCM is left alone. I believe the problem is with the carrier and conversion of the Signal. I recommend you doing the conversion through CSU, and let the carrier send you B8ZS, ESF signal.
please answer the questions and contact me when you can so I can help you with the rest. Joe.
