The IP Phones work great when you have some type of broadband service, DSL, Cable, T-1, etc. An easy way to remember it is the digital sets require a digital card to connect with, the IP phones need an IP Card (IPC) to connect with, 550.2260. The bandwidth requirement isn't actually too bad, about 18kb. By the way, there are 2 forms to fill out if you also want the day off paid.

You have it. The IP Phone connects to the IP Card with Axxess 3.0 or higher software. The card is programmed like a DKSC-16 but only the 1st 8 ports are used. A new 16 port card will be available in Jan. I use one at home everyday.

The IP phones are definitely cool. Paging, msg waiting lights, back ground music all come through the IP keyset just fine. As far as the AXXESS is concerned, its just another extension. A couple of us techs took the IP phone home and plugged it into our cable modems, intercom called each other and were able to talk and surf the net just fine. It would break up if we did heavy downloading, but nothing really to complain about. Not sure on exact costs.

I don't have any idea about cost either. It's great for telecommuting and was easy to install.
