Can anyone tell me the difference between the T1 cards?
550.2730 and 550.2740
Do they both support PRI?
I know the 550.2740 is listed as a T1/E1 it looks to me that is the only difference.

Thanks

Both cards can be either a 24 channel T1 or a PRI. The T1C card is made into a PRI by adding a daughter card. The T1/E1 is made a PRI by adding a PAL chip, no daughter card is required.

The T1C card needs special eprom chips that tell it what software version the Axxess is its connected to. The T1/E1 card is told what the software version is by uploading (flashing) a file to it. When the T1/E1 card is plugged into an Axxess 5.1 or higher, it is automatically flashed the correct software. But this sometimes doesnt always happen.

I personally like the older T1C cards better. I think they are more reliable and have less problems, but thats just my opinion.

Thanks RCA- How do you determine if a T1/E1(550-2740) has the correct PAL chip to enable PRI? What should the chip say and where is it located on the card? I thought it was U13 but I only see a U14. ??

There is only one PAL chip for the T1/E1 card and its part number is 827.8877. It goes into U14 wich is located in the middle of the board.
