I have a customer who has an AXXENT the Cpu based system.

Yesterday they called and said that there original vendor came out and replaced some boards on the main system (witch boards they did not know) after changing the boards customer still could not break dial tone and there vendor said the unit would need to be replaced.

They are able to receive calls and access lines but when you try to dial dialtone is still there. Has anyone came accross this before? and is so what is the fix?

Thanks in Advance

After hitting the outgoing button on the phone dial 9, then dial the number.

Not sure how close the axxent is to axxess, but you might try dialing 9200 to get an outside line and then dial your number to see if it's a programming issue.

They are a new customer they were unhappy with the service from original vendor that came out to replace the boards.

Thanks for your replys I'm going out to customers tomorrow to replace their system im going to bring the old one back to see what the problem could be.

WhiteStar,
Can't break dial tone.
Couple of things to check. Make sure CO trunk and CO circuit use the same type signaling (DTMF or Pulse). Also check the DTMF Digit Duration/Pause timer setting to see if it's compatible with the trunk.

Also a bad trunk card or CPU will cause this .

Of course check dial tone with a butt set before removing system to make sure you can break dial tone. Tho I am sure you know that.
