We have a customer that runs a metal shop. Lots of welding and laser cutting, painting, etc. Their KSU is nasty due to the fumes and a brown sticky crud that sticks on and in and all over the surfaces.
The KSU is in a phone closet, but still gets the crud. (For the record their "clean" office area has the same film like crud and the window washers really love it. NOT!)
We can wipe down the outside of the KSU with no problem, be there is not really a good way to clean out the inside.
Any and all suggestions on cleaning would be appreciated?

Whenever possible, use blown air. When the dirt is too much for just blown air, we use a product called "simple green". It is relatively non-corosive. Just make certain that you remove all of the residue or it can cause a little bit of corrosion over time. Also, make sure you dilute it according to the directions.

We also had a customer like this and we encased their system in a clear poly "box" we built and drilled holes into it for ventilation. Has been working fine and clean for over ten years.
