Can a CO port on the X-Blue 16 be connected to an external paging system?

Man, that is a great question. I know that on the 45P system, the CO ports seek loop current before they are considered to be active (and accessible). Without a paging adapter (Valcom 2901A, etc.), there isn't sufficient loop current when interfacing directly with a paging amp or amplified speaker input. I'd give them a call at 866-925-8312 to confirm.

I figured I would probably need some sort of paging adapter, but since the install guide says paging only thru the phones, kind of makes it a little hindered for a warehouse or small dealership.
Thanks Ed.

A paging adapter with a 24 volt talk battery feed will emulate a CO line enough to satisfy a CO port on the system. You would still have to access the external paging separately from the internal paging, meaning that both cannot be accessed simultaneously.
Once you hit a paging adapter through a CO line port, the sky is the limit.

Once you hit a paging adapter through a CO line port, the sky is the limit. The paging would be page thru the phones for the offices in the front, and Press a CO button for paging the warehouse. I am sure your solution would work fine.

Why not call XBLUE tech support for the answer?

Jim,
That was my next step if I felt I didn't get the answer I was looking for. I turn to people that have actually worked with the system day in and day out in the field before calling tech support on something but thanks for the obvious fall back response. As if I hadn't thought of that one.. Geez..

I was not trying to be a smart ass. I always goto TS support first particuly if the system is under warranty; because when you generate a report with them and it freaks your system you can always point the finger back where it belongs. At some times I have even sent e-mails to corp. to try and get results. Then if all else fails I'll try here.

Noted.. This was for a potential client. I understand where you are coming from with the finger pointing though.

As per Ernie's email. You can use a CO-Port for paging with the appropriate Paging equipment for External Paging. This is good to know.
