Missed Webinar meetings, does 2.0 require voicemail board replacement and installing newer chips in the telephone system. Was there any costs given for existing sites with older version and problems?

X-16 older phones and KSUs have to be sent in for upgrade. The price was given per phone and KSU, but you'd need to call XBlue for that information.

I sent an on the shelf X16 ksu and phones in for the upgrade. The turn around time was very fast. The upgrade features are nice. It is quick and easy to program a temporary replacement ksu or phone, if needed, while the original is being upgraded.

With all the variables involved, I am amazed when any voice and data technology works like it is supposed to.

But who pays for your efforts the client or you?

So basically its not a true upgrade - its a forklift upgrade?

Take out the original, replace with temporary, reinstall original.

Any real reason to upgrade?

It is what it is. A very reasonably priced small business system that includes AA and VM. Not a lot of bells and whistles and at this time not field upgradeable. We know what we've got and what it takes to upgrade if needed. Unlike many systems out there where you take what you get, at least they listened to what we said needed changed. If those who are selling this product don't have a problem with it why do you?

Who says I have a problem? FYI - I dont have a problem with it.

We signed up a while back to sell this as an economical solution as you desribe.

I was merely clarifing the upgrade path as we figure out what markets we may want to place this system into that doesnt conflict with the current business model.

Futher for consideration we had a trunker locally selling this product who has since gone away and abandoned the good folks he sold them to so we are now trying to decide how best to help them - without hurting them anymore.

So my question still remains - Any real reason to upgrade? Is the upgrade required?

We are not yet going to send in our R1 for upgrade. We have 4 on the shelve and about 20 sets. We will sell them as R1. Of course all new will be R2. R1 sets will work with R2 but not offer R2 features. We may send in some R2 sets for up grade.
But there is no reason to upgrade present stock or existing installed base.

Lanecom,

If you sell and support the product than I suggest you join in on one of the webinars to get the information first hand. There are features that support the KSU and those that support the sets and those that support both. So to get the total benefits you need to upgrade both. Like hitechcomm I've yet to send in my shelf stock, but probably will. As far as existing, should one of my customers need the upgrade I'd work with them in a way that would benefit us both.
