An x16 customer advised me that he was having trouble on conference calls with the other 2 outside parties not being able to hear one another. They can hear him fine but they can’t hear each other. Can anyone give some insight on this?

Telco issue, not X-Blue

If you are using TelCo conference, it is TelCo. But if you are using the system conference feature that ties two lines together, it's the 6db drop from the CO to the subscriber. Tie two lines together and the outside parties get a 12db drop to each other.

Does Xblue insert TWICE the pads that normal systems do (6db vs 3db?). The offset of this is to go alternative dial tone. If you own the ATA, you can deliver that baby lossless so you only pay 3db. Of course, you could have bought a phone system that lets you adjust the loss, but it becomes interesting when you interface to the rest of the world. Our Panasonic TDA with IP sets to FL from OH does exactly that.

with analog lines, I always encourage TelCo conferencing. I often find that it is on the customer's line already. About the only time I use system conferencing is if I have calls already in process on different lines that need to be joined. Then I announce to everyone that they will need to speak up to compensate for the drop. Digital lines of course, do not have this condition.

Never had a conference problem with the X-16, it could be a system problem. I'd call tech support and talk to them.
