I have a Western Electric 500C/D from 1956 that is in pretty much all original condition. Only problem is, it's missing one of the footpads. The rivet sheared at some point and all that's left is the top part of the rivet that is still in the base. Anybody know where I can get a replacement footpad without having to hunt down another 500 phone from the same timeframe and disassemble it for parts (assuming I could even pop the rivet out without messing up the pad)?

I have a shattered parts 500, though I am at work right now, and do not remember the year. If you would like, I will try to drill out the rivet on one of the footpads and send it to you.
PM me with snail mail info.
BTW... I thought that a footpad was a catburgler. (Though I doubt that any theif would try to steal my cats... if they valued their hangy-down things and eyesight. Siamese don't particularly like strangers...)
Real comms took 200lb teletypes, hand keys, sounders, operators and cranked phones!
