Because I'm using Fax Detection, I've had to enable AA & DISA. Before doing so, SLT on ext 19 would ring on incoming calls.

Since I enable Fax Detection, it doesn't. What am I missing? Client really needs this.

The Fax Detection is built into the AA so in order for it to work the AA has to be on and answer the call therefore phones won't ring. You can delay the AA so the phones would ring but then they may end up answering FAX calls.

Well, she only gets about 5 or 6 faxes a week, if that, so she'll have to transfer them to fax manually. If she don't like that, she can invest in a fax switch before the system. Thanks.

How would a Fax switch help it would still answer the line and direct it to a fax so the slt would not ring unless the fax switch defaulted to phones. If that is what you want the phone to do then it will have to be added to the console group which is where the AA will default to.

That was the answer I needed, Merritt....placing the SLT within the "Console Group"....must have worded the question wrong. I thought that I read somewhere that only system phones could be in that group as "Operators".

Otherwise, a fax switch before the system would have taken the fax out of the equation, thus when it was a phone call all phones within the Day Assignment group would then ring.

I'll be installing it today.
