System Access, I have tried the ( RS232 ) port - via HYPER Terminal. with a NULL modem Cable. I still can not gain access into the system for some changes. I have tried the settings as stated in other E-Mails posted here. What other means are there ? and what can I be doing wrong ?

Normally just hitting the Enter button 3 times will let you in.

the rs232 cable pinouts are different then normal pinouts. Intertel did this to screw with us.

Remember the GMX and GX rs232 cables are differnet, Im sure its the same for the Premier.

I don't know what settings you got from emails..but you should have the emulation set for VT100 / Xmodem / and start with 4800 baud ..if 4800 doesn't work...lower the baud until you hit the right setting..2400, 1200,..etc. I know there were more than one baud settings on their modems. Let me know if this worked.
The cable is standard...no special pinout.

I have tried all the diffrent settings - Hyper Terminal - with a NULL Modem Cable & a Stright Serial Cable, both Noting. I know that the serial port is working, I can talk to my alarm system. Is there another communications means, instead of Hyper Terminal ? via serial ( 9 ) pin - comm 1 port. Thanks.

Try using "X-on" and "X-off"
Does this CPU have jumpers or dip switches?

You may want to try Procomm, I have had this communication program to work where Hyperterminal would not. It seems that you have
more flexibility and a wider set of options to work with than Hyperterminal.

I am with you, it's in the cable/pinouts.

I have the pin outs in my notes as:

24/60 DCE DB25 TO PC DTE DB9

2 --------------------------- 3
3 --------------------------- 2
4 --------------------------- 7
5 --------------------------- 8
6 --------------------------- 6
7 --------------------------- 5
8 --------------------------- 1
20 -------------------------- 4

This and correct baud rate should get you in. Look at the dip switches on the cpu to see what the baud rate is set to.
