how long until a system is unpluuged will it lose all memory. Putting an axxess back into service after 2 years and I lose memory after powering down. The battery was replaced about 3 years ago

If the battery was left on for 3 years then yes it is dead, if not then you will need to turn battery on before you shut system down after programming.
