I am attempting to set the email notification for a mailbox. Has anyone gotten this feature to work? Did you use an internal mail server or an external one?

We are attempting to get it to work using an external mail server. Enabled email notification in both COS & mbox. Entered smtp ip address, email, SMTP user id & password. I checked with Vertical Tech Support (basically they say it's the internet provider not allowing it to be sent on port 25 & that it works fine on internal mail servers) and the internet provider (who tells me nothing is blocked on port 25). I'm at a loss on how best to proceed or what to do next.

Thanks!

The external mail server may not recognize the "sender" and is blocking the emails. Are they showing up in some admin box somewhere maybe?

I checked all of our email addresses that we have that I am aware of (which should be all of them) - I've not found any messages returning back to me that said they are not able to be sent.

This may be an obvious guestion but have you tried sending from a laptop while connected to the network port that the SBX uses?
