Forgot to ask, can a IP card dedicate a port for a particular application, and then have shared applications like remove IP phone or sip.

Thank you again. Gary S.

Each IP Card on the MBX can support the Edge 8000 IP phones, SIP Trunks or IP Networking, though each channel can must be statically assigned as one of the three, the resources cannot be dynamically allocated.

For Example an 8 Port IP card can be programmed for 4 Edge 8000 phones, two SIP Trunks and two IP Networking channels. You cannot have all channels automatically switch between three on demand.

Well, not exactly. Channels that are set up to support IP phones are not a one-to-one relationship. Rule of thumb is that you can expect to support at least double the number of IP phones per channel (a 1:2 relationship). Depending upon usage, you might even get better coverage.

You can also use other IP phones in addition to the Edge 8000 ones.

You just can't mix what function that the channels are allocated for.
