I have a customer with a 7200s with a off site phone, I have talked to their IT people, and supposedly they have port forwarded the correct ports to the Officeserv. I am off site, connect the phone, and I have connectivity, I see the screen and I can call out and ring other phones, but I cant hear any voices on either end. Nor can I hear the VM if I dial the VM extension.
I have set private with public with the corrosponding IP addresses in the 7200, and called Samsung, they stated that if the phone connects, even with no voice that it is a network issue. i was wondering if I missed anything. Where do you put in the public IP address in the DM tool? I have it in the cabinet configuration, and in the LAN paramaters, I think all of that is in there, I did not change any of the ports in the Samsung(the 30000, the 40000, etc) but I did turn MPS off. I am running 4.60, but not v maybe it would help to upgrade that also, but this customer wont be affected by the 911 issue.

Do you have an OAS card in this system?
If so have you put the public ip address in for it, and are the 30000 and 40000 ranges pointed to this ip address in the router's port forwards?
With MPS turned off you don't need the UDP 40000 ports, but MPS only comes into play when 2 ip devices are talking (ie IP phone to SIP trunk).

We have had this issue also. Even though the IT tells you rverything is port fwd'ed that does not help if you do not have the bandwidth. Are they a simple DSL circuit? Call the ISP & see what they have for service, also do they upload a ton of data, taking the bandwidth? Also, ask IT to check the QOS in router & DSL modems. Best of luck, it does make you pull your hair out!

You can verify the traffic on the network using the free WireShark program. Extremely helpful tool. Ping Plotter is great for finding packet loss in real time w/graphs.

Thanks for the replies.
It is frustrating working with a IT vendor sometimes, If I had access to the router it would help immensely. That is a good point about the QoS I will have to ask.
I think they have a either a cable modem or a T1 on site so that is not the issue. I looked again at the programming in the 7200 and cant seem to find a place where it says "private only" I did have a issue, where I forgot to make a setting as "Private and Public" and that was what made the remote phone work (for a different customer)...think it was MMC 832 or 840, either way I check both of those...I will let you know if anything works. In the meantime could anyone post what MMC are used in the operation of a remote phone? maybe I missed one.
