Hello,
My church has a Comdial Impact G0408 system with six phones. Four are 8012S. We disconnected stations 11 and 15 temporarily for office cleaning. On reconnecting the phones I get a "No Communication" error with a code (1C039-101.03A). Both are 8012S. All other phones work and other phones work in the jacks these two are normally connected to.
I cannot find documentation describing this error. Would a system restart help with the phones connected? I saw a post elsewhere about restarting the system by powering it off, waiting, then powering on, but I don't want to cause a bigger problem.
Many thanks!

frogging the power will not hurt anything, but its unlikly it will solve any problems. Micosoft didn't make that system Auto-set relocation might be activated in programming (thats always a problem) or it could be as simple as a bad line cord. Easy way to fix it is to pay someone who knows how to work on it. Mark

make sur ethey are plugged into correct jacks. If you have them in dial tone (ie fax, credit card etc etc) they will also act this way

Thanks, Jim. Here's the situation:
* There are a total of six phones * Of these, four are 8012S. Two of them work and two do not. The other two and the remaining two phones work fine. * I can connect any other phone to the jacks these phones are normally connected to and they work fine. * The two phones with "No Communication" errors do not work no matter which jacks they are connected to. * The jacks they are normally plugged into are the ones they have been connected to for years: both are the only jacks in those offices.
I tried unplugging and restarting the system without success. There seem to be only two options left:
1. There is some sort of programming issue where the system no longer recognizes these two phones. 2. There is a problem with the phones themselves.
Finally, not only did I plug all phones into different jacks, I ran self-tests on each phone. The two that cannot communicate are unable to even start a self test. All other phones pass with flying colors. Also, these two phones were the only ones not connected to the system during a severe storm that also sent our security and fire alarm systems haywire.)
Thanks! Brian

Mark, sorry - missed your post. If the advice is to call someone, then I am glad to. Hard to blame a guy for asking if there may be a simple solution before spending money unnecessarily, right? After all, I have had to (on the advice of my smart mechanic) pull battery cables to reboot the computer in my car and Microsoft didn't make that either!
Thanks!

Mark, Jim:
Thanks again. Answer = bad phones. I got one of them to work briefly, but it quit again. Apparently they were just on their last legs. Ordering refurbished replacements.
