Think I know the answer already but I will ask. We had yet another XTSc fail yesterday, 6 yrs old, power/capcitors, system would not come back. This is about the 10th system we have had this happen to, not a very good track record, beside the point. This was an old one, 2.10 Sw and we had a spare in the shop, same vintage. Had to rebuild the data base and did so in WinDBA (bite your tongue). Flexed the system (network). All loaded on an almost new laptop. We uploaded and took to site this morning. System came up but a couple of little gremlins. On some of the phones, if you go off hook on handsfree, you cannot just hit the on/off key to hang up, have to pick the handset up and hang up. Little stuff, but I get that feeling that WinDBA struck again. Fresh data base, new PC, but WinDBA (version 2.10/2.20) I get the feeling the data base is corrupt. Anyone with similar experience? If so, will go back and handpack. Thanks all

I've had similar experiences with all versions of the XTS, STS, DVX+ and even the DVX. The most recent issue appeared to be that the on/off button got deleted somehow. Keep in mind that ALL buttons on the phones can supposedly be altered, and a glitch in a database upload can certainly cause this.
We even had an instance where we needed a fifth flex button on 8 button sets on an DVX and we intentionally converted that button to another function.
My first suggestion is to use flash 50/51, page B, button 1 for at least one station to see if defaulting the port restores the station to normal. Of course, this will also default all other buttons, but at this point, I'm sure you won't mind reprogramming them. I just helped a buddy last week using this process for the hold button being 'lost' on an STSe and it worked.
If that doesn't work, and don't shoot me, try dialing 691 + 00 to default the off-hook preference setting. Even if it isn't there, I've seen instances where going off-hook with a glitch overrides the function of the hold or on/off buttons.
I sure would like to hear back from you to see if these work because I've never truly documented the definite solution.

Ed, default it by id'ing as a SL port then plugging the digital phone back in? The button mapping takes 2 minutes thats not a big deal. I will give it a shot, shoot you an email if its a problem. Thanks

If you have station lock on, turn it off. Then plug in a different model phone. Wait for it to initialize and after it does, then replace it the correct model. It will be at factory default.
