Hello,
Great forum with extremely knowledgeable members.

I have an issue, I hope someone can assist me with. Our company has about 30 nodes, majority are old Intertel Axxess systems and 3 newer Mitel 5000 systems. The third Mitel 5000 system was installed last week but its only able to call 2 other nodes via extension dialing. I tried doing an import/export on the new system to update the other nodes of the new information but it fails. I can ping from the IPRC to other nodes so not sure what else to check. IP Connection entries are entered correctly. Thank you all in advance.

Are the IP Connections matched to the correct nodes? Make sure that what is supposed to be P6001 is actually P6001, etc.

Is it only 5000s that the new site can connect to, or is there an Axxess in there as well? If I remember correctly, Axxess will network with up to 64 nodes, so 30 shouldn't be an issue.

I currently have 45 Axxess/5000 sites networked. The only problems I ever have connecting them is a typo on the IP Connection, or wrong IP address. Using the CPC instead of the IPRC is my most common mistake.

FYI, when version 6 is released next year, it will no longer network with Axxess systems.

Thanks for the reply. Only the new 5000 is unable to connect to the other sites. The other 5000 systems and axxess systems can all call each other and can do import/export. I checked the IP Connection entries and they all matched except for the remote audio receive port number. 5004 was the port number all the other sites were using but for some reason the new 5000 was using port 6004. I changed it to 5004 but that didnt do anything. Thanks

Do you have a networking license for the new site?

Sounds like an issue with your network connections "P" numbers. The 5000s have two "P" numbers and so it is very easy to have a conflict, especially with so many nodes. I have been stung before with that.

We do have the correct licensing and having Mitel look into the issue. He looked into something and said it should be working but guess its back to the drawing board for him. thanks

Is your DNS IP address entered? I had a problem with two HX upgrades that wouldn’t network without them. It’s a long shot, but take a look.

This occurred to me because we just changed our DNS. Guess what I spent the afternoon doing.
