ok so about 5 months ago i installed a 7200s for one of my customers. the system worked fine for the first 4 months or so and then they stated having this wired issue where on some calls not all of them, in network or incoming via the pri trunk. what it does it some times when you call an extension they pick up and sometimes there phone keeps ringing the caller can hear the called but the called can not hear them all they get is a ring tone, the same thing happens if a incoming call though the pri to the AA. i have checked the logs there are no errors other then when the pri went down once and a few system restarts. the call logs form the AA looks like its routing the call the way they should and the system shows that the line that is getting the ringing is connted to a caller. the only thing that fixed the issue for a little while is to put a old vm back up on the system and the system works fine and has no problems for a while(few days to a week) then it comes back.

I assume most all calls come in directly over the PRi to the end user and not through the AA, Correct?

If so that pretty much clears the voicemail, but if not and most of the calls hit the voicemail first and then to the end caller you could try to completely reset the voicemail from scratch and if that doesn't work you most likely have a bad main processor.

about 90% of calls hit the aa first as its a call center and most callers only call the main number which the aa picks up then transfers the calls to where they need to go. but it also happens when extensions call other extensions on the system by dialing there 4 digit#

i already tried doing a reset of the vm and then put a back up of when the system first went online and it fixed it for about a week.

is there any tests i can do to tell if the mpc is bad? if you need the system logs or any thing i can provide those but the only error is(other then system restarts and what not)

That alarm is nothing to worry about.

Have you defaulted and re-uploaded the system programming (not just the vm)?

It does sound like your MP20S card may be faulty

yes i have 2 times, i used the DB back up of the day the system went online. didn't fix any thing. and now my distributor wants me to default the system and not use any of the back ups, and reprogram the system.

Defaulting the processor and retyping in everything is the lazy way of saying I know you have a bad processor but I want you to jump through all the hoops.

If you used the DB of the day it went live and that didn't cure anything, you have a bad processor. This stuff has a five year warranty on it and Samsung is supposed to make good on it.

Samsung's assumption is that you keep spare parts and that may be fine for a 16dli or 16sli or whatnot, but you should not be expected to keep in stock a 7200s processor that has obviously gone bad.

The dealer made a profit on your system, let them back you up and stop wasting your time and irritating the customer that you sold equipment to on the basis of how good Samsung makes things.

You've done enough tech time, tell them to send you another processor, there are other dealers out there, not just the one who wants you to jump through unnecessary hoops.
