Hey there...

I stumbled on this forum today looking for answers to my Inter-Tel Axxess questions. I'm a phone system newbie (computer consultant as a day job). Hopefully I found the right place!

I've got an Intertel Axxess system and I want to add an analog cordless phone made by EnGenius. It's the EnGenius Durafon . Anyone here familiar with this phone?

My phone system consists of (2) LSC cards, (2) DKSC16+ cards, and (1) SLC card.

I think I need to add the analog phone to the SLC card. Is this correct?

Thanks for the help,
-Scott

That's correct Scott. The SLC is a Single Line Card. Just punch down the two wires and program it up from the console to have outgoing access on the trunk group you want.

You make this sound easy!

Ok...keeping in mind my newbie status...I punched down a regular analog phone and I get a tone like I would get to dial an extension. I tried to press 8 to get an outside line but it didn't work.

I can dial an internal extension and the analog phone works fine. I can call the analog phone extension and it rings fine.

I'm guessing I have to do some programming to be able to make an outgoing call and get the voicemail working for this analog extension????

Thanks for the quick reply MacGyver,
-Scott

OK, I made some progress this afternoon. I'll have to go back and look at what I did (phone system admin work over a modem is slooooow) but I was able to get the phone to get an outgoing line by pressing 8 and I can pick up the handset and dial extensions.

The next step (I think) is getting the voicemail working for this new extension.

I'm sure I'll have some more questions soon!

Thanks for the help,
-Scott

Hey Scott. I'm REALLY sorry. I guess when you knew about the SLC card I thought you understood more. I was on the run and I guess I made too short of a post.

It sounds like you got the outgoing trunk programmed so you can get out. Post back if you need something else.

No problem...I'm really a newbie when it comes to phone systems. That's ok though as I'm enjoying the learning curve.

Now that I found this forum I'll post my questions as I encounter new issues with this Axxess phone system.

Are there any details I should post about this phone system I'm starting to support?

Wow. That's a loaded question Scott. If you've already looked at the programming in DB Studio you can tell there is a lot to digest. I'm sure you probably came up on an issues setting up the outgoing trunk group. For instance after assigning the outgoing extension you would think that would give it dial out privileges. However you still had to go into the trunks and tell it that station had day/night privileges.

Overall it is a WONDERFUL system. Do you have a programming manual or just an Administrator's manual? What version of software are you running?

Unfortunatly I don't have any manuals. I've just been looking at the help section of the DB Studio software.

I think the software is version 5.36. Tomorrow I'll check and find out the exact version.

The F1 help in DB Studio is quite good, but it's still nice to have the manual. As for local support.....well, we won't go there :>)
