We have a older MicroMas running with 12 queues, 70 agents, most of which are logged into more then one queue, and Insight.
The machine is having issues, TKI will error out and close, voice assistant will go into "demo mode", Insight will get "stuck" and show calls lasting for 3 days. Stuff like that.
The vendor and Toshiba have not been able to fix this.
I am thinking the old MAS is simply OLD and Tired.
So here is my "fix", just do not know if it will work.
I am running Taske for one of our locations on a different machine. It no longer resides on the MAS, it is just on a company PC that looks at the MAS for its licensing. So, can I run the ACD software on a nice machine, and just keep the micro mas around for licensing? Do not know how to have it look at the MAS to get its licensing information.

I think you would need to have the ACD licenses transferred onto a USB dongle to do this. You will also have to consider your VA ports. If they are IP ports it would probably be no big deal but if they are analog ports you would need to make sure your new pc can accept those dialogic cards.

I had a customer with similar problems with their uMAS and what I did was backed up their database with BAR and then restored the entire uMAS using the cd-roms. I used a brand new hard drive while I was at it. The database was restored and the issues have disappeared.

"you would need to have the ACD licenses transferred onto a USB dongle" Can we do this? That would be great, I hate being tied down to a mac address.
and Yes, I was wondering about doing a complete rebuild. That machine is 5 years old now, surprised XP will still boot after that long. ^_^

MAS licensing doesn't use dongles anymore, like the ACD systems in the past. I would not think that you can move the licensing.
Since the PC worked fine at one point, as Phonemeister mentioned, if you can get the restore CDs you can put the system back to default and reload the database. Maybe a bit of extra RAM could help also.

so, question, what if the PC were to fail?
Is all of our licensing gone?

Is all of our licensing gone? Your Toshiba dealer can transfer the licenses over to the replacement MAS.

Just got the quote from our dealer, Toshiba does sell a USB dongle, they charged us $ for it, and will move our licensing over to it. We can then install to any machine we want .
Done Deal!
They will still support the software, just not the hardware.
Edited for pricing
