Don't know what I did but now my general mailbox has quit picking up if the secratary doen's answer. where do I set that up @? I know that on the VM it is set up as Virtual mailbox ext.150 but I have no Idea where in the switch to set it up. If I dial an ext. Ther VM picks up fine.

How does a call get to the General mbox if the secratary doesnt answer? Is it through the forwarding path or is it through the recall on a hunt group? Try dialing 354 at the seratary station, maybe the forwarding got turned off.

Do you have the DB programming software?

Is this the 1224 system you were talking about before? If so what type of VM system is attached? (Call Express, etc.)

Yeah hey sorry guys. It is the IMX 1224 with a VME 4000. All of the extentions just get forwarded to another extention. 237 to turn VM on at the station you just hit spcl fwd and 237. Not sure why it is this way but I'm not going to change now.

So the Recep. has a personal mailbox and the general mailbox. And the Recep. mailbox picks up ok when you call the extension directly, but does not pick up on the general mailbox when you dial the operator? Do i have this correctly?

I havnt heard of a VME 4000 but what you need to look at is how operator calls get to the recep. is it a hunt group call or is it a blind/supervised tranfer from the voicemail.

I think it might be through an auto att. But there is also a secraterial intercept set on the secrateries phone. Don't know what that means to you. It only rings on her phone when a call comes in. If she doen't answer it goes to the general mailbox. We do have an auto attendant message.

RCA, the VME4000 is made my Aleen. It's about a $1000 system. They have a pro version that has Unified Messaging for about twice that. I've never put one in nor do I have a manual. Do you know anyone who deals with Aleen?

I sure dont.

Sound Guy, You need to track how the calls are getting to the reception to begin with. You said if you dial the extension directly it goes to the personal mailblox. Does dialing 0 (zero) also ring that same phone? Is there an option in the AA recording to leave a general message in the mailbox? Or does dialing 0 in the AA get answered by the general mailbox? Also, is that phone forwarded correclty, I am assuming so if dialing it directly goes to the mailbox, but then again it might be using supervised transfer therefore not needing the forwarding.
