Can anyone tell me if you can use different brand IP phone with an Inter-tel switch? i.e. a Cisco IP phone Also, can an Inter-tel IP phone be used on a different brand switch? Thanks in advance!

A=yes B=no, not to my knowledge.
I've got a 7940 working on our Axxess Its not worth the work and the results. Sip is limited and Priortary IP phones are full featured so why would you want to.

The Inter-Tel model 8600, 8620, 8622, 8662 and 8690 fones are SIP compliant. The hook w/ SIP is that you need some sort of 'gateway' server or device. You program yer SIP server and SIP compliant PBX, then point the Inter-Tel fone (or any SIP compliant device) at yer SIP server. The previous poster is correct that SIP offers only basic functionality. Sometimes that's all you need though...
