I'm not an installer, but as a hobbyist I have installed it on a machine before and used the demo license key for the call center features (call queue, etc). Other than the license fees to unlock certain features, I really liked it. There is even a 3CX iPhone app that automatically configures itself if you enter the extension number and secret/password.
It was reliable and worked quite well when I used it for a short time. The web GUI interface made it easy to make changes. It's just entering information into forms.
Simple, easy to use, and reliable from my experience.

Obviously you are an IT geek. You want the customer to "crash and burn" the system? Oh, yeah, you sold it to another CG, not the CEO!!! Check on ROI and the unhappy end users when the sets are inadequate compared to their "old" sets. IF, and I say IF, you are still in business 5 years from now it will be doing computer work as they "break" all the time, not telephone work. JMHO

** Resurrection!! ** - Only because I didn't want to start a thread on my first post .....
The 3CX system is an incredible setup that knocks most current IP PBX seems out flat, cold, and dead.
It is refined and reliable now, probably the most cost effective AND advanced phone system for the 20-400 phone device user.
Call recording, Call Center, Android/IOS free apps, no licensing; beautiful phone options - the Yealink T48 is the most solid, beautifully phone I've ever laid my hands on.
I was like KLD for many, many years. Hated IP systems and for good reason. Until fairly recently, IP phones were just glorified digital phones with a different hose out the back. All hype and headaches. Not that way anymore.
We go to bids 30 miles outside the city to little 10-15 phone companies and the first thing we hear is - so, do you sell VOIP Systems (asked that under our old name).
If you want to go up against Cisco (are they even competing on small systems anymore?), Shoretel, NEC, ESI, or whoever with their proprietary box and phones - check out the 3CX.
Our Samsung rep told us 4 out of 5 telecom equipment dealers are simply unwilling to change and accept the new wave of Asterix/other VOIP solutions coming down the pike.
Those that don't, including those the stick to mainstream/proprietary platforms, will simply die.
