I don't work with a vendor, and have been gathering used Inter-Tel gear off eBay.

I'm stumped at the differences in licensening for the IP endpoints.

I'm running 8.224 on a CPC. I have an IPRC upgraded to the v8.2 code. I don't have any IP endpoint licenses apparently.

Did I just stumble into an overlooked licensing area, that the 8660 phones running v8.2.0 code don't seem to need any additional licensing (ie. either with the endpoint PALs for the IPRC or some sort of license uploaded to the CPC for database programming? The only trouble seems to be that I picked up an 8662E phone, and running it in Inter-Tel IP mode with v1.3.xx code, it still seems to require an IP end-point license?

I don't see any IP end-point licenses in the Inter-Tel price list I picked up off the Net, although I see blocks of 25 SIP licenses (which wouldn't do me much good with it only running v8.224 without a SIPserver?). Why would the 8662 require a license, when the 8660 doesn't?

The 8660 and 7600 end-points work just great without worrying about licensening, and now I have an 8662 that I assumed would be the same, which seems to require something else???

Can anybody shed some light on this topic?

What's the part #s of the IP end-point licenses then? The vendor that I've used in the past only sells total solutions, and gets way confused when I ask for something specific and do it myself.

Thanks.

P/N for a single license is 840.0210. P/N for an 8-pack license is 840.0132. Mind if I ask who the vendor is?
