Hey all. I'm trying to get a single IPT1020 to work on my DSL to connect to my work phone system but every time I connect the phone, it can't find the BIPU. The BIPU has an IP address from our ISP and the same IP is configured on the phone. At the same time of not finding the BIPU, it seems to crash my DSL router and I have to power cycle it so it'll work again. Are there any special settings I need to change in the DSL router? Thanks in advance.

You will need to put the DSL modem in bridge mode and setup a router to provide PPPoE login info. Have had this happen with Netopia DSL modems , something about SPI(state-full packet inspection)

Figures I have a Netopia modem. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with a VoIP phone on DSL. I've used a different brand of phone on the same modem in the past and didn't have any issues.

I guess it would be safe to assume the same thing would happen if I were to try a different DSL modem.
