Some turrets were 1A2 compatible - completely. Some weren't.

Yeah, Sam, it's old. But Interesting any way. At least to this old F--t! I remember jury rigging TIE Meritor Phones with extra H/S to light overhead lights and all sorts of other silliness in the Kansas City board of trade building. (Man, changing a card in the Meritor cabinets was a deadly thing. You got all ready, SHUT DOWN (SCREAMS ERUPT FROM TRADEING FLOOR) Swap card, power up and SLIP OUT THE BACK JACK! If they caught you, I swear they'd kill you for screwing up the trades!
