Partner R6, 206, Mail VS in 5 slot carrier- There was static on each extension -I replaced the R6, same static heard on all extensions. switched back to original R6 cpu. After unplugging each line and each station, one at a time - no change until w/power off, I unseated the Mail VS,power on, and all static was gone. I reseated the Mail VS and same static sound returned to ext 11 only, unseat Mail VS - static gone reseat Mail vS static return on ext 11, only. So I connected ext 11 to port 21 - mostly clear - there is some minor tone noise in the background of all ext, and more static on all extensions only when a call comes in. Is Mail VS injecting static? Any ideas would be most helpfull.

what do you get if you pull the 206 out of the mix ?

Yup, try that. In this case I might be inclined to blame it on the carrier since the problem changes when you remove and reseat the mod. Swap out the carrier if the 206 doesn't do anything.

Yep, I guess I need to go back with a different 206 and carrier, since the issue is reduced but not resolved.
I will post results next week.

206's are pretty old . I would take a 308 to test with
