He i am trying to setup and external call forward on a cix 100. I have put the button on the phone as well as on the phone #9876 and programmed it. When i select it is says call forward external. The system is set so all incoming calls go directly to VM then you select the extension from the list. When the extension is selected it says please hold while i try that extension then a short pause then back to the VM mail menu. If call forward button is not selected then the VM picks up after 4 rings.

Make sure the vm is doing an unsupervised transfer and make sure the external call forward is working.

If you are trying to do a Call Forward All Calls ... after transfering *from* the Voicemail... I've never gotten it to work.
If it works fine by calling that extention from another extention, but refuses to work from the VM... The article on FYI claims that Caller ID is interfering, but I don't believe that to be the case.
Change it to Call Forward No Answer, with the time set to the shortest time (8 secords)... this always works.
